Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona, ”la Caixa”, is a financial institution governed by Legislative Decree 1/2008, of 11 March, regulating Catalan savings banks and is registered in the special register of the Catalan government, Generalitat of Catalonia. As a savings bank, it is a non-profit foundational financial institution serving the community, does not depend on any other company and engages in attracting, administering and investing the savings entrusted to it.

According to the powers established in the law and its Articles of Association, ”la Caixa” is governed, ruled, managed, represented and controlled by the General Assembly, the Board of Directors and the Control Committee.
